ETS proposal put auctions, carbon hedging on tighter agenda

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has announced a proposal to bring forward the start of the floating emissions trading scheme (ETS) to 1 July 2014. The proposal would end the fixed price on carbon a year early and catalyse liable entities to organise their hedging and trading policies faster than expected.
