Green bonds form basis of new institutional investment funds

With the increasing demand for sustainable fixed income investments on the rise, fund managers are creating funds that invest in so-called "green bonds" - bonds with investments in projects such as renewable energy developments. While it is possible to source sufficient supply of bonds that are verifiably invested in mitigation and adaptation projects, for moment, the available pool of credit-worthy green bonds is mostly limited to supranational and multilateral development banks (MDBs), forming a US$12bn market.
