Green moves: Landcom, Oaktree, RebuiltBY ELIZABETH FRY | THURSDAY, 10 JUL 2025 2:27PMCarbon data firm Rebuilt has welcomed Caroline Noller as an expert advisor. The appointment reflects Rebuilt's focus on using artificial intelligence to accurately measure and label carbon footprints at scale. The platform aims to provide industry-standard carbon footprint reports for small and medium-sized businesses. "A global trailblazer in embodied carbon and founder of The Footprint Company, Noller has spent her career transforming how the built environment measures and manages carbon," Rebuilt said. "With deep expertise in environmental impact assessment, low-carbon design, and product data integrity, she'll play a key role in guiding footprint labelling products-bringing accuracy, scale and real impact." Her appointment follows a 25-year career spanning sustainability leadership roles across Australia's biggest property companies and her own clean-tech venture. At The Footprint Company she built a clean-tech SaaS business that supported the avoidance of over 70 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions. Noller also held executive posts at real estate giants The GPT Group and Lendlease. As head of corporate responsibility at The GPT Group she formulated the company's corporate sustainability strategy and performance goals. The firm achieved the number one position in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (real estate) for three consecutive years during her tenure. She also served as sustainability lead at Lendlease from 2000 to 2005. In a post to her LinkedIn community, Noller noted the construction industry accounts for over 40% of global climate impact when the full lifecycle of building consumption is considered. "I've spent my career passionately helping the property sector be the most productive it can socially, economically and environmentally. I built a diverse career bringing together cost planning and quantity surveying with lifecycle assessment and carbon science, topped off with software design. Always looking for innovative solutions to push our sector forward," Noller said. Meanwhile, a former Ellerston Capital analyst has taken on an ESG leadership role at a global alternative investment firm. Oaktree Capital Management's London office has appointed Edward McKinnon as vice president, sustainability. In her new role, Sharman will be tasked with supporting Landcom to deliver sustainable housing that responds to changing community needs and climate conditions. "From a sustainability perspective, Landcom has always been seen as a leader with a great reputation," she said. "I see a huge opportunity to build on this, breaking new ground, making beautifully designed, sustainable and diverse homes happen." With pressure to deliver strong housing growth, she went on to say, it needs to be done in a way that does not leave disadvantaged people behind-delivering diverse housing and beautiful places that work with nature. "The integration of strategy and sustainability in this leadership role is a testament to how well Landcom understands the holistic approach that needs to be taken across the organisation to deliver real impact," Sharman said. Sharman has worked as a sustainability professional for 25 years across private, not-for-profit and government sectors. Her roles have covered environmental law and planning, community sustainability, policy development and strategic planning, as well as stakeholder education and engagement. She joins from the Bradfield Development Authority, where she served as director of sustainability, designing sustainability and resilience strategies for the new city development. There, she led sustainability and resilience strategic planning for the development of Bradfield-the first new city to be built in Australia for 100 years.
