Paradice Investment Management has hired Maddy Dwyer as ESG analyst.
Dwyer is based in Sydney and joins Paradice from Pendal Group, where she was responsible investments manager.
Dwyer started her ESG career at Regnan in 2015 before moving to Pendal Group after Pendal assumed Regnan ownership in early 2019. Recently, Maddy helped prepare Pendal Group's UK business for the introduction of the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).
"I am very happy to welcome Maddy to the team, her skillset and experience is a valued addition as we continue to evolve our ESG capability," said Paradice head of ESG, Nick Varcoe.
Hiring Dwyer strengthens the firm's focus on "the integration of ESG factors in investment decision-making and stewardship activities," Paradice said.
Paradice has introduced several new initiatives across the business, Varcoe said.
"ESG is something that we are passionate about, the work we have done in relation to company assessments and engagement on the specific issues of modern slavery and climate change is something we are very proud of," he said.
Paradice recently joined several Climate Action 100+ investor working groups, Investors Against Slavery and Trafficking (IAST) and the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia (RIAA) as well as becoming a member of Tobacco Fee Portfolios.
"I am excited to join such a well-respected firm and look forward to contributing to the progression of Paradice's ESG and responsible investment practices," Dwyer said.
